Nurnberg suffered a 1-0 away defeat at Duisburg in the Bundesliga.... a win is needed against AZ to keep their chances alive.... Kluge (r) (mid) returns in midfield.... Nurnberg suffered another setback in the Bundesliga as they suffered a rather unlucky 1-0 away defeat at Duisburg on Sunday. In a hard-fought encounter, Nurnberg were basically the better team and also had the better chances, but efficiency and cutting edge were once again lacking and cost them the points in the end as they remain in the drop zone. In the Uefa Cup Nurnberg claimed a respectable  2-2 draw away at Russian champions Zenith last week. The draw leaves Nurnberg in 4th place in group A as they are already ranking 3 points behind 3rd placed AZ who they will host on Wednesday. In this light it is clear that Nurnberg basically need a win against to keep their chances on qualification alive. Nurnberg's last win in Europe dates way back to the year1988 when they managed to beat Italian side Roma. Early team news for the match against AZ is that with Pinola and Vittek, 2 important regulars remain out with long-term injuries. Coach Meyer looks likely to stick to his 4-2-3-1 playing system in which Greek striker Charisteas continues in a role as lone striker. Youngster Adler looks to have claimed a regular place in attacking midfield for now after some good recent games. Experienced midfielder Kluge, who was out suspended against Duisburg, returns in the starting 11 which is a boost as Meyer will field his team in the strongest line-up that is available at the moment.
