Feyenoord booked their first victory of the season this weekend beating FC Volendam at home with five to nothing...Slory(sp)(att) joined the long injury list after ten minutes of play...Among the injured are midfielders Bruins(r)(mid) Landzaat(r)(mid) El Ahmadi(r)(mid) and Buijs(sp)(mid), attackers Makaay(k)(att) Vincken(sp)(att) and Erasmus(sp)(att) and defender Vlaar(r)(def)...Manager Verbeek doesn't expect anyone to recover in time and will most likely field the same eleven that played the second half...Van Bronckhorst(k)(mid) called in sick tuesday and is doubtful...Despite losing Slory Verbeek can look back content with the big victory over Volendam. Striker Tomasson welcomed his return to Feyenoord by scoring twice from the penalty spot in the first thirty minutes. In the second half Biseswar, who replaced the injured Slory, bagger two before setting up Mols who settled the final score to five. Feyenoord welcomed Lucius, Hofland and Tomasson back from injuries so the list actual got shorter despite Slory experiencing a set back. All in all Feyenoord played a solid match but then again they probably played against the weakest side in the Eredivisie. Manager Verbeek still has to fill his bench with youngsters like he did the last couple of weeks. The manager has little options but the current squad seems eager to prove their worth. Van Bronckhorst came to the club on Tuesday but after consulting the doctor they decided to have him skip the group training.
