They suffered a comprehensive 2:0 defeat last Thursday in Manchester in the first leg and now the manager Magnus Pehrsson will hope to see more determination and solidity from his men. They played some decent football at times but were caught back too many times at the back and conceded twice. Now they will need to perform miracles at home and be as effective as possible to oust the English outfit. Deportive were beaten 3:0 in Denmark in the previous round and thus the players will have belief in themselves that the feat is possible. The manager will be without one of his major midfielders in Thomas Enevoldsen though. The creative midfielder picked a booking last week and is now banned for the game. This is a blow for Pehrsson and he will need to find a new man in midfield. The most likely replacement is Andres Due who is a striker but may play on the wide role. Steve Olfers and Emil Haucke miss the game for sure as they are nursing long-term injuries. Kjetil Waehler missed the first leg with a foot injury and remains a doubt for the game. He is unlikely to recover in time. Aalborg were forced to settle for a 1:1 draw at Syderske on Sunday which was a disappointing result and now the manager will expect his men to rise to the challenge and deliver a big display against City that will give them a chance in the tie.
