Only three seasons after their last participation, Livorno have succeeded returning to the Serie A thanks to a bright success in the play-offs of the Serie B. Coach Nicola, the man responsible for such a result, despite his lack of experience at a Serie A level, was confirmed at the helm of the team and this is certainly a big risk for the Tuscan side, especially considering how President Spinelli tends to be sacking-prone. During the summer, a few protagonists of the glorious cavalcade towards the top flight of the Italian football had to leave as their loans ended. This was certainly the case of goalkeeper Fiorillo and the midfielders Duncan and Gentsoglou. Unable to count on great financial resources, Livorno management have been forced to strengthen the squad through an array of loans mostly from richer clubs. This means that the starting eleven should only be slightly touched. In fact, in goals, Bardi, from Inter, should replace Fiorillo. Moreover, Greco should take Duncan’s place in the middle of the park. The Swiss Decarli, the player Livorno invested more money on, seems to be destined to the bench, as an alternative to Bernardini, Emerson and Ceccherini in the back three. Benassi, also from Inter where he already made the starting eleven, should gain more playing time in the middle of the park. Livorno seem to be lacking experience in all the departments but the attack is certainly their main weakness with just Palinho, Dionisi and Dell’Agnello. New signings are highly needed and soon.

Target

Livorno are one of the main candidate for relegation.
