PEC Zwolle ensured themselves of another year in the Eredivisie towards the end of the previous season. This was only secured in the penultimate round of play. The Zwolle side endured a tough campaign and staying in the Eredivisie without having to participate in the relegation play-offs turned out to be the maximum result. PEC Zwolle's final ranking was 14th in the league table and they will be aiming to finish the upcoming season a few places higher to avoid another stressful end of the campaign. PEC Zwolle had several players on loan from other clubs in their squad during the previous season. They have all left the club. Queensy Menig, Ouasim Bouy, Nicolai Brock-Madsen and Django Warmerdam were all regular players during the previous campaign. Bouy and Brock-Madsen will be playing in England in the upcoming season, while Warmerdam has made a transfer to FC Groningen. Danny Holla has been taken by FC Twente. Several players have left the club and PEC Zwolle have only added a small number of new players into their squad so far. Goalkeeper, Diederik Boer, has returned to Zwolle after three years in Amsterdam at Ajax while another former player has been signed as well. Erik Bakker has returned to Zwolle after six years in Leeuwarden at Cambuur. Dico Koppers, Younes Namli and Piotr Parzyszek have been brought over from Willem II, Heerenveen and De Graafschap respectively. Coach, Ron Jans, decided to leave PEC Zwolle after four years, of which the first two were the most successful with winning the KNVB Cup and the Dutch Super Cup. He has been replaced by John van 't Schip, a former Dutch international who used to play as a winger. He had been the coach of Melbourne City in Australia over the past several years. It will be an interesting challenge for him to make PEC Zwolle do better than they did in the previous season.

Target

Staying out of relegation zone by finishing the season between 10th and 13th in the league table.
