PSV U21 had a mostly respectable season last year as they remained firmly in mid table for the most part and actually went on a good run in the final couple of months, losing just two of the final ten games. Ruud van Nistelrooy is their new coach this season as the legendary striker takes up the mantle from Peter Unkeren, having been part of the coaching set-up in the past few years. He will focus on finding some gems from the academy and not really going for results but he will nevertheless expect some improvement from last year. There are good players to work with at the moment as the likes of Cheick Toure and Nigel Thomas on the wings and marauding full-back Shaundry Sambu all look like pretty good players that can develop further with a bit more guidance. The midfield is likely to be comprised of players like Emanuel Matuta and Ismael Saibari, who both showed promise last season, but there is no real starter in the centre forward position after Kristófer Kristinsson departed in the summer after his loan deal. PSV will certainly look naive and raw at times as the season goes on but they have some interesting players there and Van Nistelrooy may well enjoy some success in his first managerial job.

Target

Will look to bring some new players in and become harder to play against.
