There are high hopes in Drammen ahead of this season, as Stromsgodset steamed through the second half of the 2017 season to become one of the division's form teams. Tor Ole Skullerud really got the side clicking after the summer break, and he will rue the terrible start they had to the campaign when they were closer to the bottom three than challenging for the medal that eventually came their way. He will expect a much better start from his side this time around, and a top three spot will be up for grabs yet again. Whether they can challenge Rosenborg for the title remains to be seen, but if they are to have any title aspiration, no matter how thin they might be, they must avoid slipping up to opposition they are expected to beat, both at home at Marienlyst and on the road. Too many points were dropped against teams in the bottom half of the table, not necessarily defeats but draws that hindered their progress nonetheless. Stromsgodset don't look short on fire power and creativity in midfield, and if they can produce strong defensive performances to go with their attacking flair, then this might be a very good season for them indeed. Skullerud will look forward to seeing just how good his side are when they kick off their new season in front of their home fans on Sunday.

Target

Skullerud would love this side to challenge Rosenborg for the title. But a more realistic goal would be to keep up the superb form they showed last autumn and try to pip Molde for the runner up spot. Prediction: 3rd
