After comfortably surviving relegation due to their fantastic form in the second half of the 2010/11 season, the Glovers have been through a very busy summer transfer window which has so far seen seven players joining the club and five players departing. All of the players to have left are either starters or potential starters, with arguably the biggest loss being top scorer Dean Bowditch, who signed for MK Dons on a free transfer after rejecting a contract extension by the club. The Glovers therefore signed former Everton trainee Kieran Agard, an unknown at this level, and former Plymouth striker Steve MacLean, who isn't really known as a prolific striker. The club also lost three defenders in Nathan Smith, Craig Alcock and Adam Virgo, but have recaptured Max Ehmer on another loan deal, while also signing former Plymouth man Bondz Ngala, who is a very reliable defender when managing to hold his temper. Gavin Williams has also been signed on a free transfer from Bristol Rovers, and the attacking midfielder will surely feel like he's coming home, as this will be his fourth stint with the Glovers, while Anthony Edgar and Dominic Blizzard have also signed in order to give manager Terry Skiverton new midfield options. All in all, Yeovil are entering the new season in their usual way, with a much changed squad, a lot of new players, and ready to rely on the loan market should things not go their way.

Target

Avoiding relegation. Skiverton seems to have cracked League One, and the squad seems to have enough quality to claim another lower midtable finish. However, a lot will depend on the gelling of new signings.
