Blackpool's 2023/24 season was inconsistent. A strong end to the campaign saw The Seasiders push hard for a play-off berth, though a last day defeat saw them come up just short. Manager Neil Critchley remains in charge for his second term. He ensures two regular starters in the form of Rhodes and Coulson have returned to Blackpool on permanent deals. Both will form a key part of the side. Quality depth has been added, with striker Fletcher, midfielder Evans and defender Ashworth all joining from Championship sides. All will push for regular starts. Blackpool did also lose some quality depth this summer. Ekpiteta, Connolly, Lavery and Dembele all played their part last term. Inconsistency could prove to be Blackpool's biggest issue. They blew hot and cold and you never really knew what sort of performance they'd offer up on a week-to-week basis. The Tangerines could look to use a kind fixture list to their early advantage, as they try to set the tone for a positive season.

Target

A play-off push. Blackpool will be fighting hard for a place in League One's top six, though it will not be easy. A realistic target is a top half finish, with an outside chance at progressing further up the table.
