Boreham Wood are looking for consolidation and progress this year as they struggled until the end but just about survived last year. They have the youngest manager in the league in Luke Garrard but he has shown toughness and no little determination already and he managed to bring some excellent players to the squad over the summer. Indeed, it can be argued that the Wood were one of the sides with a best transfer window so far. They bagged a couple of excellent Braintree players in Matt Paine and Kenny Davis, integral part of the side that defied all odds to reach third place. Moreover, Mark Ricketts is a top addition in midfield as he brings grit and fine passing well. Meanwhile, in Angelo Balanta and Anthony Jeffrey, back for another spell on loan, the team has landed a couple of speedy forward who can have the beating of a lot of defences. On the other hand, Scott Doe leaving for Dagenham & Redbridge is a real blow for the Wood as he was an imposing presence in defence and undoubted their best player last season as he lead them to a number of clean sheets as the team, floundered around him.. Luke Howell also completed a return to the Daggers after an year and his aggressiveness and energy in midfield will be miss too. The team also lost their main keeper James Russell, who produced some stunning saves along the way last year.. Grant Smith is now expected to don the gloves and he has no experience at all at this level. As a whole, there is a decent mix of players in the squad but the Wood seem to lack the mentality to go for more and would be happy for a place in the bottom half of mid-table.

Target

Will be mainly looking to stay up but have the calibre of players to challenge for upper mid-table as well.
