Winning promotion from the second division despite changes in coaching staff and turnover of squad is a big achievement after relegation in 2022. They left it late to go top after trailing Busan in the final game and relied on their opponent's result to ultimately win the division. As is always the case the side have a six-monthly turnover of recruits leaving and new recruits joining on loan from various clubs. This preseason was a challenge in January with only 17 players available, but in February the whole squad gathered and played a number of friendlies together. With the huge turnover in squad it's always key to get the new players up to speed and match fit for the start of the season and that seems to have happened. Dae-won Kim probably most key of the new recruits. The squad looks well balanced but beware of the July squad turnover once again. Midfield depth and talent is amongst the best in the league and the partnership of Jae-woo Kim and Sang-min Lee at centre back is good as well. They have striker Young-jun Lee as their U22 player and it will be interesting to see him back in K1 with a player of high potential. Definitely the nature of the team being broken up in the middle of the season. The manager who is quite new to the team (May 2023) doesn't have much experience with the team's turnover of players so he really has to prepare two teams (March-June and July to November)
