Head coach Stefan Leitl’s first season in charge proved to be a little disappointing after a promising start but Hannover did make some slight progress from previous campaigns. Hannover have been quieter on the transfer front than the previous summer with only a few notable additions. Leitl believes the current squad he has will only get better and the players no longer required have been moved on. The club won the race for exciting left-back Brooklyn Ezeh from Wehen Wiesbaden after producing some impressive performances. The 22-year-old played a part in 11 goals last season so will bring a lot to their attacking play as well as defensively. There is a youthful look to Hannover these days with young midfielder Marius Worl also joining from 1860 Munich. Bright-Arrey Mbi has signed permanently after his loan spell while Luhrs, Momuluh, Tresoldi, and Leopold are all likely to make an impact. Despite a younger looking squad, there is a good blend of experience across the park. Halstenberg is an excellent purchase from Leipzig. Zieler, Borner, and Neumann are seasoned pros, Nielsen and Teuchert bring a lot to the attack, and combative midfielder Christiansen joins from Greuther Furth.
