Juventus have been the absolute dominators of the Italian football for the past 5 seasons and they are willing to remain so even in the next future. For such reason, they invested lots of money over the summer in order to strengthen what was an already strong squad. However, unlike the past campaigns, this time around they made it pretty clear that they want to win also at a European level. The Champions League, that is. In fact, they unsurprisingly let go one of their most representative players, Pogba, to Manchester United for a stunning amount of cash that was re-invested in the best striker of the Serie A, Gonzalo Higuain. This way, they managed to replace Morata, whose departure for Real Madrid could not be avoided, and, just as well, they weakened their main rivals for the Scudetto, Napoli. Pjanic will be expected to replace the French star in the midfield and in the heart of the supporters and he really might do so, especially if he manages to find that consistency he often lacked while in Rome. Their perfect defence was strengthened by Benatia, who should provide some cover for the likes of Barzagli and Chiellini, who are both worn out by age and the many battles fought. The young Pjaca is also expected to become a protagonist after shining during the recent UEFA Euro 2016. However, with Marchisio injured until December and Khedira too injury-prone, Juventus need to hire at least one more midfielder since players like Hernanes, Pereyra and, possibly, Lemina might all be sold. Lichtsteiner and Zaza could also be leaving before the end of the transfer campaign and this would lead to the arrival of a new right-back, to be alternated to Dani Alves, and a new forward, a promising but experienced youth possibly.

Target

Juventus aim at winning an historical 6th Scudetto in a row and, at the moment, they seem to be the favourite ones but, most of all, they long for the Champions League. If the new players, Pjanic and Higuain above all, do gel with the rest of the team, they might actually be the main candidate for a European success too.
