Malmo paid a huge price for a slow start to the season because they were very nearly top of the pile again after 30 games, finishing runners up one point behind champions Djurgardens. It was the finest of margins but, having been eighth after three games played, was enough for them to miss out on the championship. Jon Dahl Tomasson has taken over as head coach after Uwe Rosler's departure, and his only competitive games in charge to date was the disappointing Europa League exit in February. But the squad looks in great shape and will be one of the strongest in the division yet again. But Malmo need to win the title this year. AIK and Djurgardens have both pipped them to it in the last two seasons and they really can't afford a hat trick of title misses. More European football on the way is a positive, but domestically they really want to cement themselves as the best in the division again. They have the players to do just that.

Target

The title has to be the main goal for Malmo this year after a couple of near misses after slow starts. If other clubs drop their guard, or fail to match their form from last year, Tomasson's team will be there to pounce without question. Prediction: 1st
