Millwall have failed to return to the Championship at the first time of asking, having fallen to a play-off final defeat to Barnsley, but the overall feeling of their faithful about the season that they have had was still positive, as Neil Harris managed to steady the ship following relegation and to turn them into a fine League One side. The Lions' legend has continued his work on restructuring the squad during the current summer, as he got rid of a lot of unneeded players, although two regulars have also left in the likes of Mark Beevers and Ed Upson. The list of new signings consists of only three names, with David Worrall, who joins from Southend, being a well-known League One player, who will give the Lions an extra otpion on the wing, where they found themselves a bit short at times last season. Their summer transfer activity means that they still have a formidable squad - they have a strong defence, two excellent strikers in Sean Morison and Lee Gregory, while there are also a lot of options in the middle of the park as well, although they could have done with a player or two to boost their creativity. The Lions have generally struggled to break down teams during the majority of the previous season, but got better in this regard as time elapsed, and became a formidable home team in the late stages of their previous campaign. If they can continue where they left off, and there seem to be no reasons for them not to, they will once again be among the prime contenders to go up.

Target

Harris will be expected to build on last season's achievements and deliver promotion this time around. If they can continue their uptrend, they could even find themselves pushing for direct promotion.
