Aalesund are back after two years in the OBOS ligaen and Lars Bohinen's side are certainly not going to just be making up the numbers. Their promotion season last year could hardly have gone better, and Aalesund will be going into this campaign with a winning mentality they will hope will be hard to shake off. It was dreadfully disappointing for the club to be relegated in 2017, after ten straight top flight seasons, but they possibly needed to reboot, take a step back and come back stronger. Bohinen has been the perfect coach for that and he has instilled belief in his squad. The question is whether these players are strong enough for the top flight, but Bohinen has kept faith in the squad that served him so well in 2019. The budget will be of a shoestring variety, as is the case with so many Eliteserien teams, but Aalesund are better suited than most to the top flight. With expectations at a minimum, survival will be the one true goal but ambitions will be running a little bit higher than that. This is their chance to rebuild themselves as an Eliteserien team. Bohinen will not let that go to waste.

Target

Survival as a newly promoted side must always be the official goal, but Aalesund will be aiming higher than that internally. The players will need to prove their worth on the next step of the ladder though. Prediction: 10th
