Molde were the runaway winners last season, finishing 14 points in front of surprise package Bodo/Glimt, while title rivals Rosenborg finished even further behind 16 points adrift. Erling Moe could not have asked for a better first season in charge, and their fire power and strength in depth was too much for most of the Eliteserien clubs they went up against. More of the same can be expected this season, with the club having kept hold of important attacking lynchpin Ohi Omoijuanfo, while Molde fans can finally expect to see great things from Eirik Ulland Andersen who missed a majority of the 2019 campaign with a serious injury. That will be like a new player for them this season if he's fully fit. Vegard Forren's departure has left a bit of a hole defensively, and someone will need to pick up his leadership qualities at the back, but there's not many weaknesses on paper at least. Molde will expect to defend their title successfully, and it's hard to see beyond themselves and Rosenborg for another tussle for the crown. The Trondheim side will certainly not finish 16 points behind Molde this season, but Moe will have to guard against complacency and any idea that just turning up at places will guarantee points on the board.

Target

If they can maintain the levels of last year and come out firing straight away, Molde will be hard to beat. They remain championship material. Prediction: 1st
