Borussia Dortmund were nothing short of sensational last season as they stormed to the title with room to spare. They did stumble over the finish line but having built a more than satisfactory gap over their pursuers they were able to do this without any real worries. This season against a no doubt resurgent Bayern they will probably find things a little harder but their squad has lost only Sahin from the starting eleven of choice while a number of good additions have been brought in. Perisic, Leitner and Gundogan are all highly rated and skillful midfielders and it is even hard to see just how they will all fit into the one team. Up front Barrios is a regular scorer but he played a long Copa America campaign with Paraguay and he may not be fit to start the season. Lewandowski is a good back-up and should do well when given a chance while at the other end Weidenfeller has developed into a very reliable 'keeper while the defence in front of him is also more than solid. Dortmund are a very good side with every reason to be confident but they will know they will have to be at their very best if they are to retain their championship.

Target

Borussia Dortmund will relish defending their title and a top three finish would more than maintain their honour.
