Hansa Rostock were excellent under Jens Hartel last season, gaining promotion to the second-tier for the first time in 10 years. Hartel will be hoping his team can cope with the step up in quality this season but has made a few experienced additions to the squad which will help. Hanno Behrens has made the move from Nurnberg and should bring quality and experience to the midfield, while defender Meißner and striker Munsy are also no strangers to life in this division. Ingelsson, Mamba and Schumacher will also add strength in depth. The majority of outgoings this summer were squad players from last season so you would expect Hansa to be well equipped for the fight. The return of some fans will be a boost for home matches and this is where you feel they can be strong. Their resources are obviously limited compared to other clubs in the division so it will be difficult for them to compete against the bigger teams. They will need to be strong defensively as they will come under pressure, especially on the road.

Target

Survival. There is no doubt that Hansa Rostock are one of the favourites for the drop, however, with a decent manager in charge and some experienced players on board, they could be a surprise package.
