JEF United sneaked into the play-offs in the last available 6th position last season. They were immediately eliminated by Tokyo Verdy though after losing 1:2 in the capital. Still, this was a good season and with a bit more consistency JEF culd have achieved more. Komori had a very good season and with his 13 goals he led all scorers for JEF. His main support up front was Tomoya Miki, who is no longer in the team. His departure opens a serious hole but JEF have the players to fill it. Eduardo was added to the squad and he could become the new creative playmaker. Also, experienced Koya Kazama can be given more advanced role in midfield. JEF were pretty solid at home all of 2023 but they had issues on the road. The main weakness was the inability to defend set pieces. No other team in the top half of the table conceded more goals from dead-ball deliveries. JEF hope they’ve worked hard enough on this part of their game in the off-season as so far not many new defensive signings have been made.

Hopes are to finish in the top 6 and make at least the play-offs. Can do it if able to score enough goals.
