Despite reaching the Conference League semi-finals and finishing a respectable eighth in the Premier League, Leicester won’t be pleased with the team’s performances last season. Injuries to key players played their part in curtailing Leicester’s progress once again, as several men spent significant time on the treatment table. No team has been less active than Leicester so far in this transfer window, as the Foxes have signed no player to beef up their squad. Dennis Praet has returned from his loan spell at Torino and Ademola Lookman returned to parent club RB Leipzig. Kasper Schmeichel has reportedly agreed to join Nice, but there is no confirmation yet. To be fair, Leicester have a rather complete squad with a combination of experienced and prodigious players in the majority of the positions. Coach Brendan Rodgers was forced to use different systems due to injuries last season, with his players adapting to both back-three and back-four formations. Leicester boast very talented forwards in Jamie Vardy, Ayoze Pérez, Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka. The four men possess different characteristics and this helps Rodgers adapt his attack to the opposition defence when needed. Defending dead balls was their main weakness last season. Leicester conceded 16 Premier League goals from corners, the joint-most on record in a single campaign in the competition.

Target

Leicester’s goal is to achieve what they failed to do last season and clinch European qualification by bettering last year’s finish.
