Mjallby did well to stay away from the battle for survival, this despite having serious issues scoring goals all throughout 2023. The season-ending injury for their 2022 top goalscorer Nwankwo in pre-season had a lot to do with that. Mjallby still won enough matches, 12, to secure a top 10 finish. They also saw Nwankwo make a return in the last few weeks of last season and also the re-signing of Bergstrom in the summer proved to be a success. The only notable departures this winter were players that were only on loan at the club. In terms of new signings not much has been done and it seems that the second-year manager Torstensson is happy with the squad he largely trusted last season. The fact that Nwankwo is fit now and also much more mature, he was only 18 back in 2022 when he became Mjallby’s top goalscorer for that year, bring hope for much better returns in attack this season. Bergstrom’s presence from day one of the season should help on that front too. The regular starters will be very similar to last season and this should see Mjallby looking solid on the pitch from round 1, while other teams still build synchrony.

Target

Another trouble-free mid-table finish is the main goal. Will need their 2 star strikers to stay healthy and that should be enough for a top 10 finish.
