Molde had a really poor title defence last year as a terrible start of the season doomed their chances as Bodø/Glimt build an early lead that proved unassailable. The Blues remained competitive and had a very good run in Europe, while a triumph in the Cup final in November was at least a consolation for their overall poor campaign. Now Erling Moe and his men are aiming to reclaim the title and at least be up there and thereabouts late in the season in what should be a fierce competition for the top places. The squad remains filled with quality payers and there are good options to call upon in every department. Mats Dæhli is the main new addition and he will bring calmness and quality on the ball from midfield, with goal threat as well. The main question mark is whether they will be able to get enough goals from their forward players as Veton Berisha and Frederik Gulbrandsen have not really been too reliable for Moe so far and he needs at least one of them to hit 20 goals if they are serious about getting their hands on the title again. All in all, this Molde side looks a tad thinner in depth and a bit lacking in genuine quality compared to a couple of years ago and it will take a monumental effort for them to really stay in the title race until the end.

Target

Trying to prise the title away from Bodø but it will be a mammoth challenge.
