Odd were quite impressive last season in the manner with which they grabbed points at consistent basis with one of the youngest and most inexperienced starting 11s in the entire league. Pål Arne Johansen did a really good job steadying the ship at Odd in the two seasons he was there but the young manager moved on to a new adventure with Swedish side Hacken. Kenneth Doken has been given the task of continuing his work as the new Odd manager and he will certainly face a pretty stern challenge with what is still quite a thin squad that is lacking depth and alternatives in a few areas. Having said that, Odd did sign three established and quality players during the winter period in Torgeir Borven, Andre Hansen and Etzaz Hussain and they all possess enough experience and pedigree to make this Odd side a team competing in the top half of the table. Borven may have struggled with Vålerenga in the last two seasons but was the league's top scorer in 2019 when he was with Odd. Hansen should be an assurance and certainty between the sticks and Hussain is a very neat passer in midfield. Doken also has a few exciting youngsters in the squad, especially Feniel Tawelde up front, and the ingredients are there for Odd to have quite a good campaign overall if they settle into a starting 11 quickly and Doken is not fazed by the challenge in what is his first-ever managerial job.

Target

Building an exciting side that should be able to compete for a top-half position.
