Last season ended in disappointment as Stirling Albion missed out on the play-offs on the last day of the regular season. They seemed certainties for a top finish after a strong first half of the season but, when it mattered, they could not produce the wins required. They failed to win any of their last 5 fixtures at home (W0 D2 L3). Stirling responded to their disappointment by waving goodbye to 9 of their squad plus some loanees. Chief among the departures is forward Andy Ryan who has returned to his former club Hamilton. Fellow forward Declan Byrne with 19 appearances last season has moved to Albion Rovers along with first choice goalkeeper Cammie Binnie. Regulars last season Roberts, Wilson and El-Zubaidi also represent significant departures. Boosting Stirling’s midfield options are Rabin Omar from Morton with Ray Grant signing from Alloa. Other notable incomers are Dale Carrick from Airdrie, Martin McNiff from Clyde and Adam Cummins from Stranraer. Although Stirling have lost a few players over the summer, they have also picked up some quality signings. Stirling need to re-gain their home form and if that is achieved then they can look forward to a good season. However, with forwards Ryan and Byrne gone, it is unclear where the goals will come from.

Target

Stirling are looking at the play-offs and could be considered with a chance of the title if they can sort their home form out.
