It was a strange season for Atlanta as they started by winning only two of their first eight initial matches but they finally got in shape on the right time and they achieved to reach Conference Finals where they were eliminated by TFC despite the fact they scored first. So, Atlanta didn't achieve to become back to back MLS Cup Winners but on the other hand they achieved on winning the US Open Cup by defeating Minnesota in the final. Legendary defender Parkhurst has retired but there's Miles Robinson and newcomer Fernando Meza to replace him. It is also the time for Barco to shine this season as he already turns to 21 and he just needs to stay healthy. Josef Martinez will be of course again the star player of the team and the key factor for success. He scored 28 goals last season, but coach De Boer needs to find additional solutions in scoring in order to make United's offensive function more versatile and unpredictable for the opponents.

Target

The team has still quality players but the roster is more limited comparing with the past two years as many of the contributors of the success have gone. But the target for Atlanta could not be less than to finish at the top of the Eastern Conference.
