Crewe return into the third tier after several seasons in League Two and the make up of their side adheres to the values they have been nurturing as a club for years - as they are a youthful side that insists of playing what purists would call "proper football" - ie, they like to keep the ball on the ground and attack. Attacking-minded sides that are newly promoted from the fourth tier often appear too naive after making the step up and this also seems to be a danger with Alex, especially given the lack of experience in their squad. However, their young players could still end up quickly adapting to life in League One, while their summer transfer activity also looks promising, as they have lost no key players, while signing three men with experience at this level in Offrande Zanzala, Mikael Mandron and Donervon Daniels. The atmosphere surrounding the club is extremely positive at the moment and Crewe will be looking to re-establish themselves as a respectable League One club, while entertaining their observers along the way.

Target

With a promising squad and an eye-catching style of play, Crewe will be hoping for a midtable finish in their season of return to the third tier.
