A season that threatened to go off the rails concluded on a respectable note for Eintracht Frankfurt who finished in the top half of the league table while also going on decent runs in the DFB Cup and in the Europa League. Adi Hutter was able to club together decent lineups from the players available and has culled the deadwood ahead of the new season, especially in the center of the midfield. Both Gacinovic and Torro have been sold to Hoffenheim and Osasuna respectively while Gelson Fernandes has retired, along with Marco Russ, and Jonathan de Guzman's contract was not renewed. With regards to new arrivals, Frankfurt have managed to convert Andre Silva's loan deal into a permanent move while Ragnar Ache is expected to provide depth in the attack. Steve Zuber has been signed as part of Gacinovic's move to Hoffenheim but is an option on the flanks rather than in the center of the midfield. A reliable goal-scorer was Frankfurt's biggest weakness last season and despite no new faces up front, Hutter will be optimistic of a better overall performance as he looks to build on a fairly decent campaign last time around.

Target

Lack of major investment means Frankfurt will do well enough to repeat their last season and finish in the top half of the table though Hutter will be aiming to challenge for a European qualification spot
