Millwall had an extraordinary first season back in the Championship last term - and an especially strong second half to the campaign that so nearly elevated them into the play-off picture. Neil Harris has proved to be an excellent manager at this level, the club legend has Millwall at heart and has really got the best out of his limited squad. One of the Lions' strengths last season was to play a consistent starting eleven, Harris was reluctant to make changes and so nearly rewarded for his faith. You would say that Millwall need far more than what they have, especially up-front where Steve Morison and Lee Gregory continue to be the main men, if they are to make improvements. Yet Harris has not really addressed that area at the time of writing although he is interested in Barnsley's Tom Bradshaw. So far he has made just three signings. Ben Amos arrives on a season-long loan from Bolton and you sense he will be the No.1 in goal given costly errors that Jordan Archer made at the end of last term. The other arrivals are Murray Wallace, an experience defender from Scunthorpe, although there remains interest from Rangers in Jake Cooper, and Jiri Skalak a winger that should fit neatly into Millwall's style of play. It is difficult to know what to expect of Millwall this season. They really overachieved last time around but Harris is a progressive manager who will want his side to make further strides this term.

Target

A top half finish can be regarded as a great success but Millwall may well dare to dream of the play-offs - especially after a good second half last term.
