Swansea's stint in the Premier League came to an end last season thanks mainly to a poor last few games. That meant Carlos Carvalhal left his position and has now been replaced by Graham Potter. Their start to the season has been impacted by whether they keep hold of players. Already departed has been Ki Sung-Yeung to Newcastle, Lukasz Fabianski to West Ham and defender Kyle Bartley to West Brom. Alfie Mawson, who starred at the back, has now left for Fulham and the forward brothers Andre and Jordan Ayew are both also expected to leave the club. Signings so far have been exceptionally underwhelming with Joel Asoro arriving from Sunderland, Yan Dhanda from Liverpool and Jordi Govea from Real Madrid. Belatedly Barrie McKay and Bersant Celina have also joined but they are hardly setting the world alight. With more players expected to leave the club there is little for the Swans and their fans to get excited about just yet. Players will also have to get used to Potter's style of management, a man who is somewhat unknown at Championship and indeed Premier League football. There is much uncertainty at the Liberty Stadium. The Swans badly need a good start if they are to offer anything in terms of excitement near the top this season.

Target

Despite the doom and gloom, there will be an expectation of the top six. But you have to say that is incredibly unlikely as things currently stand.
