Osasuna have now had three years back in Spain’s top division and they have been a consistent mid-table team in that time, finishing 10th, 11th and then 10th again. They made a very strong start to last season, before falling away once the primary objective of survival was secured. This year, they’ll aim to once again confirm their status in the division as quickly as possible and they certainly have the squad to do so. This is a well-balanced squad with a good coach in Jagoba Arrasate and with lot of homegrown players. They’ve also improved it by bringing in talented goalkeeper Aitor Fernandez, who’ll address what was sometimes a problem position last year, as well as Ruben Pena and Moi Gomez from Villarreal. Osasuna have a very impressive attack as they have top quality players like Chimy Avila, Kike Garcia, Ante Budimir and Ruben Garcia, so they have plenty of options in the search for goals. The defence and midfield are solid too, so there aren’t many weaknesses at Osasuna. They will, though, hope to improve their home form this campaign, as this was what let them down last year since they only won five of their 19 home fixtures.
