Last season was another positive one for Real Valladolid. They once again avoided relegation and they did so even more comfortably than the previous year. Under the ownership of Ronaldo and with the coaching of Sergio Gonzalez, they’re slowly but surely building something impressive. This summer they’ve improved the squad further with a few smart additions in specific areas, such as striker Shon Weissman or winger Fabian Orellana. Real Valladolid have lost promising young centre-back Mohammed Salisu in the transfer market, but they also lost a starting centre-back last summer when Fernando Calero left and they didn’t miss a beat. Defence has been one of the strengths of this Real Valladolid side over recent years and surely will be once again, while they’ll hope to be stronger in attack this year. Last year, attack was their weakness as they scored just 32 goals from their 38 games. They’ll hope Weissman and Orellana can help with that and they’ll hope to keep progressing as a club in 2020/21.

Target

Avoiding relegation. Even though Real Valladolid comfortably avoided relegation last season, their fundamental target won’t really change for 2020/21. Once again it’ll be to stay in the division.
