Trabzonspor managed to win the league for the first time after 38 years with a great performance throughout the season. A comfortable lead of 8 points at the end of the season summarizes the domination of Trabzonspor last year. Trabzonspor's recent transfer policy has been to reduce the average wages of players and turn down astronomical wage requests of players even if the player is Anthony Nwakaeme, who had a tremendous contribution to the title-winning team. Injury-prone and old star Gervinho was also sold to Greece and all other regular team players were kept in the team. Despite not losing many players, Trabzonspor did not bring many game changers to the team either. One exception to this might be ex Aston Villa winger Trezeguet who had great success at Kasimpasa. He proved himself in Super Lig and should be a good replacement for Anthony Nwakaeme. Another good transfer was right-back Larsen from Udinese to accompany Bruno Peres who suffers from injuries pretty often. Trabzonspor did not have a good alternative for him so Larsen should help. Young players Elmali and Haspolat were bought from Kasimpasa to left-back and defensive midfielder positions respectively. Both players should provide depth to the squad and are promising for the future. One of the main potential problems is the old age of the star players such as Edin Visca and Marek Hamsik. Since Trabzonspor will play in Europe and Super Lig at the same time, these players might have inconsistent performances.

Target

Trabzonspor will push for a second consecutive title this year but the competition will surely be tougher.
