Brann had the season from hell last year as they changed managers and struggled immensely to get out of the relegation battle until the end. They eventually had just enough to secure safety but had quite the scare and a club of their statute will not want to experience that again in the coming season. Kåre Ingebrigtsen starts his first full season in charge and will hope to have a leaner, more effective squad to call upon. He has lost a few important players in Fredrik Haugen and Jon Fjoluson but have held onto the likes of Daouda Bamba, who was excellent up front for them last year. One of their more interesting additions is that of promising forward Filip Delaveris, who had a poor spell in the Netherlands but had quite a splash with Odd back in 2019 and could well provide goal threat from wide areas. The main worry is the lack of too many midfield options and apparently there is no prospect of anyone arriving imminently. Thus, the coach will hope that the core of his squad will be able to stay injury-free, unlike last year. Still, it is hard to see a scenario in which Brann make a run for the top six and should settle for a spot around mid-table.

Target

Will look to break into the top six again.
