Valerenga had a brilliant last season in which they secured European football for a first time in ten years and the aim for coach Dag-Eliev Fagermo and his men this year is to build on these promising foundations and grow from strength to strength. The exciting part of this Valerenga squad is that, in Osame Sahraoui and Kristoffer Klaesson, they have two genuinely excellent players that are bound to only get better after breaking through in 2020. The team was built on some real solidity at the back, industry in the middle and the exploits of Vidar Kjartansson in the final third, and Fagermo is not expected to deviate too much from that formula in the campaign ahead. The one worry for him ahead of the new season is that a few important squad players have departed and the depth of the squad seems rather compromised at the back. That said, Valerenga have prioritised quality over quantity so far and, in Amor Loyoni and Thomas Christiansen, they have made two of the best signings of the transfer window. Therefore, things are looking up for the club from the capital but they still look too far away from the top sides to genuinely mount a challenge for the title.

Target

Will push to secure a place in the top three again.
