Kristiansund were quite brilliant last season and only narrowly missed out on European qualification at the end, enjoying their best-ever season in the top-flight. Such lofty heights could well be too far out of their reach this season as they waved goodbye to their main attacking weapon from last season, 25-goal forward Amahl Pellegrino. He is almost impossible to replace given the sort of consistent impact he had from wide areas and the lack of attacking potency is indeed the main reason for KBK's rather grim outlook for the year ahead. That said, Christian Michelsen is always capable of conjuring up excellent teams from the sidelines and he is definitely one of the top coaches in the division and it is a folly to bet against his side in a potential relegation battle. They still retained the core of their midfield and defence in Llirodon Kalludra, the Ulvestad brothers and Andreas Hopmark and can build on that. However, Flamur Kastrati was rather poor up front last year and one wonders where the goals will come, with Faris Moumbanga not really showing enough last year too. Overall, Kristiansund will be primed for a tough season ahead but their experience and nous at this level should have them in good stead as a whole.

Target

Staying clear of the relegation battle.
