Bristol City had a peculiar finish to last term. Boss Lee Johnson was surprisingly sacked as poor form ended their play-off charge. After being linked with several big name candidates, the Robins pulled off a surprise and named Johnson's assistant Dean Holden as new boss. It appears that very little has changed over the summer. They have lost important midfielder Korey Smith but replaced him with the class of Joe Williams from Wigan. Chris Martin has also arrived to boost the attack from Derby. You sense, though, that they are still a few players short of one that can challenge. City have had a tremendous team spirit over the last few years and it will be interesting to see if Holden can keep that going this time around. City have proved to be a funny side too over the last few years, seemingly playing well when the pressure is off, but as soon as they get a sniff of the play-offs appear to falter. Their home form has been disappointing lately with no obvious reason and that is an area that needs addressing.

Target

City will hope to make the play-offs but they do appear to have over achieved in recent seasons.
