Preston had a good campaign in the 2019/20 season, only narrowly missing out on the play-offs by 4 points. The Lilywhites had the chance to sneak in but faltered once the season resumed in June. Over the summer, Preston have successfully kept hold of their core squad of players. Manager Alex Neil knows if he can keep the feel-good factor in the camp they can carry some good momentum into the season. In the transfer market, it's been quiet for Preston with not a lot of activity going either way. The only incoming players are O'Connor and Burke who are returning from their respective loan spells with neither player expected to get into the first XI. Alex Neil has made it clear he's looking to bring in additional faces and a striker is strongly on the cards before the window slams shut on October 5. A real strength for Preston is their midfield. The mix of talent and experience in the middle of the park gives them an advantage over most teams in the division. Preston's main weakness is the absence of an out and out striker. This plagued them last season in their play-off push. A strong full back is also a pressing need.

Target

Play-offs. Alex Neil knows the minimum target for this season is the play-offs after just missing out last season. Key/regular core players have been kept which is a huge bonus and it will be of no surprise to anyone if Preston solidify their place in the top 6.
