Last season was a long and difficult one for Huddersfield. The Terriers left it to the final day to mathematically secure their safety in the Championship and did not finish strongly. Over the course of the off-season, the sacking of manager Danny Cowley in favour of new manager Carlos Corberan has shaken things up. Meanwhile, there have been a lot of comings and goings at the club, with a Speight of loan spells coming to an end. In terms of new faces, Corberan will be eager to bring more in. Given the real likelihood he is due to lose star forward Karlan Grant. New signings Pereira and Ward are expected to challenge the current starting XI, with both players fulfilling well needed positions. Huddersfield leaked goals last season but the addition of Pereira on loan from Man Utd should improve that area. The key strength to the side will be their attacking players. The likes of Pritchard, Ward, Grant among others can hurt teams. As it stands, Grant is staying but, with the window closing in 1 month, this can of course change. A weakness in the side is the age of the squad and the back line in particular. The regular starters in defence are the wrong side of 30 meaning injury/fitness could be a problem. Corberan may have to rely on youth/unproven players across the squad.

Target

Survival. After a tough season in 2019/20 and a summer of changes (including manager), Huddersfield should be focused on securing safety.
