Neil Warnock was expected to be a busy man this summer and so it has proved. Having rebuilt parts of the club after his arrival at Cardiff City Stadium a couple of months into last season, the experienced manager has completely reshaped things this summer with a catalogue of signings. Lee Tomlin, Loic Damou and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing have arrived to reshape the midfield while Danny Ward will supplement Kenneth Zohore, a success story of last term, in attack. Warnock was less than happy with his goalkeeping options last term but now has signing Lee Camp and Neil Etheridge to compete for the No.1 jersey. Callum Paterson, the defender, is another interesting signing from Hearts. Warnock has allowed the experienced Peter Whittingham, something of a fans' favourite, to leave after a lengthy service to the club. The beleaguered Rickie Lambert has also departed after failing to convince in an injury-plagued time at the club. Warnock has certainly provided enough reason to believe good things are around the corner for the Welsh side after a difficult few years. With their very vocal fans they will really look to improve on a home record that has been somewhat indifferent in recent seasons. If the new players can gel quickly Cardiff may be outside contenders for a play-off spot.

Target

Warnock will hope for at least a top half finish but will believe, with a good start, they can make the top six.
