Football Season Guide

It was a difficult season for Jahn last time out, often struggling for consistency throughout. They were never in much danger of the drop though and eventually finished 12th. Jahn have obviously been affected as have many clubs by the pandemic and financially they will have suffered, they have however, made some decent incomings mainly through free transfers. Defence is an area that needed improvement and, with an ageing back line last season, manager Mersad Selimbegovic has sought to freshen it up. Centre-backs Scott Kennedy and Jan Elvedi have both joined the club and should help the cause. The loss of long-term veteran striker Marco Gruttner will have left a void up front, but Selimbegovic has brought in two young and hungry strikers in the shape of Andre Becker and Kaan Caliskaner. It remains to be seen if they can have the desired effect but Jahn do have Andreas Albers and Sebastian Stolze, who can both score goals. Jahn will be expected to play with plenty of desire and will prove difficult to beat again, especially on home turf. A potential weakness will be their strength in depth and consistency.
