Nurnberg enjoyed a fantastic second half of last season after losing their manager to Wolfsburg and they showed the type of quality they have in this team but when they started to lose a few games they looked very poor and they may have a similar season this year, rather inconsistent and ultimately ending in a mid table finish. However this would not be a bad result for a team that most thought would be among the relegation candidates last year. They have lost a couple of important players to the squad including Timm Klose and Timmy Simons which will hurt them along with Sebastian Polter who played sometimes for them. They have replaced them with largely younger players including Daniel Ginczek who comes in after a fantastic season with St. Pauli but Emmanuel Pogatez will provide some more experience to the team. Michael Wiesinger should be given time to turn this side into a decent Bundesliga team and if they manage to start well they could have a chance a real outside chance at a European finish but this would be a real overachievement

Target

A mid table finish would be a realistic target for this Nurnberg side.
