A timely change in the dugout helped RB Leipzig avoid a disastrous campaign last season and secure a top four finish thanks largely to their excellent form in the second half of the season under Domenico Tedesco. Despite reports that Leipzig were looking to hijack a move for Erik Ten Hag, Tedesco has deservedly kept his job but is yet to be backed in the transfer window. Leipzig have sold a number of players for decent fees, with Tyler Adams, Brian Brobbey, Nordi Mukiele and Hee-chan Hwang all leaving the club but Xaver Schlager has been their only arrival to boost Tedesco's options in the midfield. Second and third choice keepers Tschauner and Martinez have also left the club with Janis Blaswich signed as a replacement on a free transfer. Sorloth and Lookman have both returned from their loan spells while Moriba is also expected to be given more minutes after returning back from Valencia. Leipzig did exceedingly well under Tedesco but, with the squad depth weakened following the departures, Leipzig will need to increase their activity in the transfer market if they are to come anywhere close to Bayern Munchen in the race for the top spot.

Lack of transfer activity means Leipzig will be happy with another top four finish though they will be looking to reduce the gap to the top of the table.
