Ceara was a mid-table team for years in the Serie B and they even finished fifteenth back in 2015. The expectations weren't that high at the start of the 2017 season, but the team from Fortaleza somehow managed to surprise their fans with an exceptional run. Manager Marcelo Chamusca joined the team during the season and he definitely pushed the performances to an impressive level. The defence only conceded 32 goals in 38 matches and the third spot wasn't a surprise at all with that in mind. This outfit will be one of the clear underdogs at the start of the Serie A season and Chamusca will have to be creative now to form an outfit with enough qualities to avoid the bottom four. The players with Serie A experience who joined Ceara during the winter are all on loan as this club simply doesn't have the budget to add well-known and quality-boosting players to their squad. This will result in a tough puzzle for the coach at the start of the season, but he already showed his skills last year. However, Ceara will be one of the underdogs as mentioned.

Target


Ceara finished third in the Serie B last season and the expectations won't be that high at the start of the new campaign with that in mind. Preventing the drop back to the Serie B will be the main mission.
