Huddersfield looked to be sliding towards relegation last season before the appointment of Neil Warnock in February. The veteran boss masterminded a superb run towards the end of the season which eventually saw the Terriers finish 18th, nine points and four places above the bottom three. The main business over the off season has been persuading the 74-year-old Warnock to stay on for this campaign. The only player incoming so far is experienced goalkeeper Maxwell. Winger Thomas is back after a loan spell last season and has the potential to be a standout player this season. Pat Jones and Yuta Nakayama are also nearing returns after injury disrupted 2022/23 campaigns. Going out there has been a thinning of the squad but not really any significant movement. The biggest loss is probably Hungbo who did provide crucial goals and assists in the fight to stay up. The main Huddersfield Town strength is unquestionably the nous and experience of Warnock. He masterminded a run in their final 10 games of last season of six wins, three draws and just one defeat. The fact there have been hardly any incomings is a worry. The forward line in particular is an area that looks in desperate need of strengthening.

Target

Staying up will again be the main focus.
