A very disappointing 2022/23 season saw Leeds relegated from the Premier League. The Whites struggled to move on from the structure and style of play implemented by iconic Argentine boss Marcelo Bielsa. The off season has given Leeds chance to reset. A new era at Elland Road has begun with the club taken over by American investment group 49ers Enterprises. There is a new manager with Daniel Farke appointed, who twice won the Championship with Norwich. There hasn’t yet been an influx of players with little income generated from player sales and the new ownership keen to avoid careless spending. The one senior acquisition so far is Welsh international defender / midfielder Ampadu for a reported £7 million. More signings are expected. There has been an exodus of senior players with defenders Koch, Kristensen and Llorente plus midfielders Aaronson and Roca all leaving on loan. The most notable departure is that of forward Rodrigo, Leeds’ top scorer last season with 13 league goals. Interest remains in several of their standout players from last season. Leeds have a manager who knows how to succeed in the Championship and the makings of a strong squad with Cooper, Ayling, Dallas and Bamford experienced performers at this level while they are some exciting youngsters at the club. With plenty of movement expected until the end of the transfer window it could take time for the team to gel.

Target

Expectations will undoubtedly be high - promotion back to the Premier League.
